Shane Boyd (London School Trained)
Shane is self admittedly Tenacious and Picky. He pays close attention to the fine details, and isn’t happy until the job is perfect. This should lend itself quite valuable to the beauty world, where good looks and feeling great, are paramount.
Shane tried his hands at barbering 20 years ago, but for reasons he’d rather not explain (family commitments) lol. He left to pursue more stable employment and raise a family with dreams of home ownership.
Since he was a small boy growing up in Vancouver, before his family moved to the small town of Grand Forks BC
Shane can remember his father taking him to an old school barber on the east side.
its there where the idea was first planted. And after many years of thoughts and wishes.
covid-19 brought on an opportunity to change paths and rekindle an old dream of himself becoming a barber
& so in June of 2020
he packed a suitcase. Rented a room in a basement in Dunbar and registered at London School on West Hastings in Vancouver. in “Old School Barbering”
After graduation in January 2021, Shane plans to bring his special blend of services to the oceanside region on Vancouver Island.
The future is bright.

Brian Michell (VIU Nanaimo Trained)
Brian comes to us from his former post as the “young guy” at Stuarts Barber Shop in Parksville BC
After 18 years with Stuart’s, his former shop owner retired and the shop (in the owners home) closed.
Brian weighed his options on his own shop, and decided to meet with Shane, one day in January 2023 to see what it might be like joining forces with Ocean Pacific.
& So February 1st /2023 Brian “The Barber” Michell,
started at Ocean Pacific in Qualicum Beach Let’s all show him that OPB love and keep his chair full and clippers buzzing
Murphy Boyd (VIU Nanaimo Trained)
ready to make her big break in the world of hair
and growing up inside a barbershop
Murphy is a trained hairstylist From VIU Nanaimo campus (graduating in December 2023)
she has a love for barbering and wants to see the trade continue.
Murphy aspires to be a master with the straight edge razor, but needs more time to hone her skills
The future is beyond bright, for the heir apparent of OPB :)
